Peggy's Diner

First impressions: upon entering, I am surprised at the size of the diner, especially how far back it stretches. Much larger than the property frontage would suggest. *note to self: it's a tardis. A sign requests that I wait to be seated but I am greeted almost instantaneously by a waitress who leads me to a table toward the rear of the diner. As I follow my lead, the standard of cleanliness throughout the diner becomes almost as crystal clear as the diner itself. This place sparkles and the decor is tastefully timeless. *note to self: no need to check the cutlery. A menu each for my companion and I to peruse is placed on the table as we are seated. I ask if I should order at the counter to be informed: "No, we come to you" *note to self: wow, impressed. The choice is vast, with the diner catering magnificently for those with specific dietry lifestyles and requirements. *note to self: must tell my Vegan friends Our order is taken in a timely manner and we are soon served our drinks; a Chai Tea and an Oat Latte. There are other customers throughout the diner; couples, families with young children, senior citizens. The waitresses are equally attentive to all. *note to self: I like the atmosphere here. As I finish my drink, a waitress appears with two plates of piping hot, freshly cooked and well presented food. The portion sizes are generous and the food tasty. The diner does accept card payments, but I paid with cash, as requested in a politely phrased wall hung notice. Final thoughts: Very pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. There was absolutely nothing not to like. *note to self: must come here more often.

Booked a table and was served with politeness and very promptly. Three breakfasts arrived as ordered, freshly cooked and was attractively served. Also had desserts of crumbles, very nice . Ps they also accept well behaved dogs

Some of the best service I've experienced. So nice, so wholesome, such lovely ladies. The food was delightful, the menu was varied and I was spoilt for choice, but opted for the rainbow sandwich Lots of families dining in when we visited which made the experience very sweet and enjoyable. I'd be happy to support this little diner again in the future.

Great place to eat. Service is excellent. Food freshly cooked to order so there's a bit of a wait. Whilst you're waiting you can use the quiz cards on each table. Food was very good. I had bubble and squeak as an extra, perfect! It was my husband's birthday, the staff and customers sang Happy Birthday to him. I can't recommend highly enough. Go and see for yourself

Absolutely wonderful experience. The food was hot and fresh and delivered so quickly, there were quiz cards on the table to keep us entertained and their drinks are just I couldn’t choose between a mocha or a matcha latte but the lovely lady who served us told me about the matcha and oh my word! The best matcha i have ever had. So creamy, so well prepared and went down an absolute treat. We will for sure be back, this is a gem of a cafe! Thankyou team at Peggy’s Diner
